PROJECT PROFILE:  Triconex

About the project:  Invensys' Nuclear division, Triconex, announced plans to relocate their Lake Forest, CA facility onto the Invensys Corporate Campus 4 miles away.  There were two significant challenges to this project:  First, the nature of the business did not allow this business unit to have a single day of down-time.   Second, from the time the project was announced we had 5 weeks to plan, organize, order, and execute this project.  Triconex called on Workspace By Design to help plan the furniture layout, supply the furniture, organize and orchestrate a very complex move and installation, and provide a disposition solution for all of the unused furniture.  Triconex had grossly outgrown their current location and generated a very aggressive schedule to move approximately 200 people plus massive computer equipment in a 3-day weekend.  We chose to highlight this project in particular because of the high level of detail and coordination it took to successfully execute this project. 
  • Provide a floorplan/layout to include 150 workstations, breakroom, multiple conference and meeting rooms, seating, lab furniture.  Needed to create approved plans within 1 week.
  • Client had specific and significant data/cabling/power requirements; coordinated in detail with these trades to insure the furniture supported the client's needs and the layout reflected the appropriate data and electrical drop requirements
  • Product ordered and on site in 3 weeks to meet installation deadline
  • Coordinate moving and installation with all other trades including electricians, data/cabling, phone, and other construction trades for a seamless move-out/move-in process. 
  • Found a local buyer for the unused furniture and arranged clean out of the old space

PROJECT PROFILE:  Berks County Community Foundation
 
About the project:  When the BCCF decided  it was time to relocate their offices, they chose to create a landmark in the City of Reading.  Although it was not the first building to incorporate green building practices, it was the first to capture a LEED certification.  In addition to housing the BCCF staff the building also serves as a Community Conference Center.  Here are a few highlights of the products and services provided by Workspace By Design:
